We are so excited to share what the Lord has been doing in and through these two church communities. The past couple months have been marked by God's faithfulness and we expect to see the Spirit move continually as we become one family.
Join us as we celebrate Christmas Eve together at Balboa Community Church! At Balboa Community Church
Balboa Community Church has been marked by many faithful servants and stewards of God's blessing. We want to celebrate and honor what God has done here in the past and present while also looking to our new future. This will be Balboa's final service as they will be moving to join Communion at Marston Middle School so that renovations can begin on the facility.
This will be our first Sunday together as a new community! We will be joining together with great excitement and anticipation for our final move into our new home. Marston will be the place where we begin to be a community, but we wait patiently to move back home as a new family. At Marston Middle School
We can't wait for this day! We can already begin to dream and imagine what it will be like to move in as a family once and for all. Our move back into the renovated facility will be dependent on how long construction takes, but we hope to move in before Easter of 2020. We will have to be flexible and we will know more once construction begins.
We look to create one budget and bank account in the near future.
Please continue giving in whatever way you have been in the past. We will announce details for change when we get ready to move to a centralized giving platform next year.
The Sunday service will be approximately 80- 90 minutes long which includes time for greeting one another and the Lord’s table.
We will be developing new leadership and governance structure in the coming year. Communion Church, as a church plant, is in “developing status” and Balboa in their vote last month, decided unanimously to move back into developing status. What this means is Balboa dissolved their governing board and elders giving authority back to the denomination. The transition team will serve as a bridge until we construct our formal governance structure with oversight and coaching from our denomination.
Balboa will join Communion at Marston for the coming months and the facility will be renovated in a multi phase approach. Phase one will begin shortly addressing major areas of concern and the gathering spaces that would be needed for the Sunday service. Once renovations are complete, we will move back into the Balboa facility and Communion will give up their current lease at the school.
We will evaluate all of the programming and ministries that are currently in place and see if it fits with the vision of the church going forward.
